Art Fundamentals Task 2

Updated: May 19, 2020

For this task I took a couple objects found in my room and placed them on my desk to draw, with the window to my right being a reference for where the light source is on the picture.

I started off by doing rough outlines of the objects, of which said objects changed after I started to draw as I wanted it to be more complex which would later end up including the desk itself and what was on it at the time of drawing.

The figurines themselves offered up a challenge of trying to draw each and every detail as well as getting the facial features to look as correct as possible.

The greatest challenge I faced was getting Koromaru's (the dog plush's) face to look correct. At first it looked a bit to bulky and by the end it appears a bit too low, maybe this would have been better approached by having the face be shaded instead of using outlines to show a protrusion in the facial features.

The use of shading in this task wasn't the best it could be and could have been better blended, but the use of shading helped to show where the light was coming from.
