Art Fundamentals - Task 4

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

I decided to draw my room using 1 point and 2 point perspective.

The first image displays 1 point perspective and allows you to show a hallway or length of space getting further away easily by it getting closer to the vanishing point.

The second image displays 2 point perspective and allows you to show objects vanishing at two points, allowing objects to be seen in either direction like your field of view is wider.

The construction lines on the first image are very faint and can be hidden easily by shading and via objects being close together. However, in two point perspective it can be easier to see them due to two point typically making more space in an image. due to this and the lack of shading in the second image it is easy to see the construction lines that should have been made harder to see.

In the first image the bed covers are drawn really well, they don't break the perspective but also don't follow it directly, giving the appearance that they aren't organised and adding life to the art.

In the second image the use of two point perspective has allowed me to create a more life like picture by having the desk look more 3D and also be behind the wardrobe adding more depth to the room making you want to know whats behind it.
