Game Idea - 27/11/19
The brief for this game idea states that the genres are Survival and Exploration.
I shall do a detailed inspection into both genres to find out what features are commonly found in both and also to find those that are commonly lacking.
Currently, after doing a small look at both genres, have gained a simple understanding and come up with an initial idea.

Fantasy world.
Crafting equipment.
Building settlements.
Forming alliances or enemies.
Character Creation.
MC has a skill that allows them to learn the attacks of enemies.
Training under others allows you to learn their skills and new ones.
Party members can be earned through quests, MSQ and found in the field.
Alternatively, party members can be recruited from guilds.
Story
You appear with no memory and are inside a city.
This city was pushed into hiding centuries ago by the daemon lord and his army.
The elders of the city tell of a legend, one of a hero that will unite or separate the world.
You set out with some party members that want to see the outside world, they say they're your childhood friends, but you have no memory of them.
As you go about the world, making allies or enemies, you begin to regain your memory.
You begin to see visions.
Features
You can set up different specialised buildings in towns. E.g. Atelier, Blacksmith, Merchant, etc
These specialised buildings allow you to have a party member train at them while your in town, allowing them to become better in the arts and make crafting possible when out and about... However, this comes at a cost. If you do this, they are unavailable for combat or events till done with the training. Therefore, it is best to do this when you're doing other things in town, or you don't need them.
Scouts can also be obtained through progression. These can be sent out from towns to go gather loot or complete simple quests, but if done you must pay the scout, meaning the quest payout is reduced and there is a chance it can fail. This can be useful when you need a specific item from this quest but also need to go elsewhere, thus saving time.
There will be branches in the story, depending on what path you take the story may change for better or worse, leading to lose of towns, people, zones or your own life....
There is an exhaustion meter. this can be filled in many ways, and is also an incentive to do tasks in town, as then the exhaustion bar will refill.
